Information:Patrick Kuhse, a native of Grundy Center, Iowa, became a key player in a bond trading fraud and was on the run for five years, before turning himself in to serve a five-year prison sentence. His compelling story centers on the errors and failures in thinking that led him down this path.

Straight from the Heart: An Iowa Ex-Con Talks Business Ethics
Information:From an idyllic boyhood on a Grundy Center farm, to life on the run, to a 5-year federal penitentiary sentence, Patrick Kuhse has learned a thing or two about business ethics. Kuhse was a young stockbroker on the west coast when he became involved in major illegal activities. Now, after years as an international fugitive and more years in a federal penitentiary, Kuhse tells his riveting story and sounds the alarm on the faulty thought processes and decision making skills that can too easily trap the unsuspecting young professional.

Beyond Enron
Information:This roll-out event for the David W. Wilson Chair of Ethics featured a full half-day of panel discussions and presentations on the ethical, legal, regulatory, and management issues arising from the Enron and Arthur Andersen crashes. Featured speakers included Senator Charles Grassley, President Robert Koob of UNI, John Meyer of Sprint, Tim Throndsen of PriceWaterhouseCooers, John Sorensen of the Iowa Bankers Association, Professor Norm Bowie of the University of Minnesota, Professor John Mahon of the University of Maine, and Professor Donna Wood of UNI. 850 people attended.
